Artist Statement

Shafer’s lifelong interest in photography and painting started during her college training in occupational therapist. As an undergraduate Shafer earned a BS, MS and the equivalent of a BFA. She has also taken graduate courses in photography, graphic design and art in human service at Mass College of Art and Design.
Today she works as a fine art photographer and water media painter. Alice is a skilled photo restorer and hand color artist who makes coffee table books (Print-On Demand) for clients.
Her images have been featured in solo shows at the Cambridge Art Association and at the Galatea Gallery in Boston. Her work has been included in group shows at the Salmagundi Museum of American Art in NYC, the Edward Hopper House Art Museum (Nyack NY), and in the galleries of the Concord, Attleboro, Provincetown and South Shore Art Associations.
